The 2017 Yanez & Associates third Annual Family Law Scholarship Essay Contest and Scholarship Program for Law Students. The essay contest will focus on fathers' rights.

The Family Law Offices of Yanez & Associates has formed this program to benefit and motivate future family law lawyers. Our objective is to support law students’ educational efforts while raising awareness about family law issues.

This law school scholarship program will consist of One annual scholarship. All current law students and prospective law students awaiting admission to a law school are eligible. (The law schools must be located within the USA)

Law school students who enter the essay contest will write a 2,000 word essay. The winning essay will be posted on  yanezlaw.com and sister website and credit will be given to the winning writer.

The content must be original, in other words the content must not be reproduced from the Internet. We will run a Copyscape search (plagiarism checker) to ensure the content is original and not duplicated from the Internet. By submitting the essay the winners are granting Yanez & Associates permission to post the essay on their website(s) and/or any social media channel. Further, the winners will be required to submit a headshot, which will be used to accompany the essay when it posts.

(Please remember that the winning essays will be made public; therefore, you should avoid writing personal sensitive information)

Student Scholarship Requirements & Rules:

The Law Student Scholarship is open to students enrolled in any JD law program in the United States. Undergraduates and Pre-law Students intending to pursue a law program are also welcomed to submit their essays, provided they will be enrolled at the time the essays are judged.

Who is Eligible?

To be eligible the student must be:
• 18 years or older and
• Currently enrolled in a Law School or has applied to a Law School and will be enrolled by the time the essays are judged.

Additional Rules:

• Submit a readable copy of your essay (only one essay submission per law student is allowed).

• If your essay wins, you will be asked to submit a good clear headshot no smaller than 300 pixels (width) of yourself. The image file must be in the following format .PNG or .JPG.

Please submit your essay via the following online form. Once we receive your application you will be sent a confirmation email.

The winner will be required to submit their mailing address and SSN which are required for the 1099 form.

The essay winner will be mailed a check from the Family Law Offices of Yanez & Associates. The funds are to be used to pay for law school-related expenses.
