Elder Abuse Act of 2011
How do I Find a Local Family Attorney?

The Elder Abuse Act of 2011 will bring about much needed changes for the seniors in our community. The social problem that the Elder Abuse Act of 2011 intends to impact is our aging population of senior citizens and the care that they receive. It is important to educate ourselves, those around us, and those in positions of high authority so that a change can be made. The issues of elder abuse can range from neglect, financial abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, or any other situation in which someone is taking advantage of the elderly.

The legislation would initially ease the ongoing problem of elder abuse across the country. The way it would ease this problem is by ensuring that the senior citizens are being protected and cared for the way every human being has the right to be cared for and protected. The caseload would be easier to manage with an increase in funding and with further support of the Elder Justice Act of 2011. Currently social workers are unable to handle the caseload that is being reported. This research shows us that there are many senior citizens that are not receiving the support they are entitled to (New York Times, 2011).”
