Divorce Questions

The duration of a divorce in California is a minimum of six months. This six months is a waiting period to ensure that a divorce is truly what both parties want. If at anytime during the six months the parties decide that they do not want to follow through with the divorce they can opt out of the divorce before it is finalized. At times parties will file for divorce and then get cold feet and decide that they want to try and work things out with one another. With a waiting period this allows couples who want to reconcile the opportunity before the court finalizes a divorce.

It is important that everyone considering a divorce in California familiarize themselves with the Law of California pertaining to divorce. If you have questions regarding Family Law and Divorce in Orange County please do not hesitate to contact Yanez & Associates at 714-971-8000.
