Divorce and social media nightmare

If you and your partner are getting a divorce, solid advice is to stay off social media sites!  Do not tweet about your case or the other parent, Do not Facebook, Do not plaster information on Google plus and do not text because this documentary evidence may be used against you in court by the other side.  According to statistics of an American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Survey conducted in 2010 there has been an 81% rise in the use of social media evidence from five years prior.  Additionally 66% of those surveyed listed Facebook as the most popular site for this evidence.

I have witnessed social media posts, emails and text message being used in Orange County Family Law Child Custody hearings and trials while waiting in the courtroom for my case to be called.

As a Certified Family Law Specialist practicing in Orange, Los Angeles and Riverside Counties, I advise my clients not to use social media during the pendency of a divorce.
