There are many reasons a child may not be wanting to participate in school, be it because of behavior problems, emotional problems, language problems, medical problems, or learning disabilities.
Here are some signs that your child needs special education:
-He/She has trouble reading, writing, or doing math;
-He/She has trouble concentrating, sitting still or following directions;
-He/She has problems with talking or pronouncing things;
-He/She forgets where things are;
-He/She can't keep track of time;
-He/She doesn't understand things like up and down, left and right, or front and back;
-He/She has problems with motor skills such as holding a pencil;
-Has trouble with personal routines like brushing teeth; or
-He/She is often in his/her own world and/or has trouble making friends or relating to other children.
Note: There are some legal rights that only parents, foster parents, or surrogate parents have.
