When you get a divorce and there are children involved, one of the spouses will often have to pay child support to help pay for things that will allow for the proper care of your child/children. Child support often ends when the child turns 18 years of age or once he/she graduates from high school unless your child is still in high school, living at home with a parent, then the child support payments will end when the child turns 19.
There are a few other reasons that child support will end. They are:
-If the child is emancipated,
-If the child gets married or enters a domestic partnership (this must be done with the parent's permission),
-If the child joins the military,
-If the child passes away.
