A survey of 2,000 recently divorced people indicated that approximately 50 percent of divorced men and 20 percent of divorced women were ready to remarry. This encourages those people who have been discouraged by divorce that finding love still remains a possibility.

However attempting to find love before your divorce is even finalized may not be such a good idea. If you’ve started the divorce process, you have to evaluate how your divorce is going. Are you and your partner being amicable? Is the divorce emotionally overwhelming? Is your partner indifferent towards you dating so quickly? A strong relationship is likely to form when your mind and body are strong. During a divorce, your main focus should be towards the divorce since the decisions you make in the divorce process is likely to affect you in the future. Your dating behavior during divorce may affect custody and parenting issues.

In addition, you dating will most likely add fuel to a contested divorce. The divorce process is a difficult enough without hostility of divorcing partners, so if not dating will make the divorce process more amicable, don’t date until after the divorce is finalized.
